Wheat weaving is a form of braiding, or plaiting grass or cereal crops into shapes that often hold historical or social significance. Often these weavings were tokens of the harvest or love.
Pat DeVries has been weaving wheat for decades and will be demonstrating her craft during the festival. Watch her combine different braiding techniques into intricate decorations.
