Community Outreach

The Lehigh Valley Fiber Festival is so excited to return for 2023. After the past couple of years, it is more apparent than ever that communities coming together is an act of survival, compassion, and healing.

Pink Heals

Pink Heals of the Lehigh Valley has partnered with public safety organizations, local businesses, and families to help individuals since 2013.  The organization focuses on the individual, providing support by celebrating the human element and the people involved.  Pink Heals will join the Fiber Festival on Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.  Be sure to visit and pick up an exclusive Fiber Festival plush friend! Girl Scout Troop 6030

A LVFF tradition is the attendance of Girl Scout Troop 6030 running a hoagie and bake sale to support the troop’s community outreach projects. Past projects have included sleeping mats for homeless veterans, sending Girl Scout cookies to our military, building a Little Free Library for their school district, helping a local animal shelter, and materials drive for Valley Youth House.

Stash Bash

Another LVFF tradition continues with our Stash Bash. Got leftovers from a project? Changed your mind on a color? Decided you wanted a different weight? Don’t let that extra yarn sit idle. Bring it to the festival and stop by the Girl Scout tent – the girls will gladly accept your extra yarns and get them to local organizations so they can create warm hats, scarves, and blankets for homeless persons, cancer patients and foster children. The Girl Scout tent is located across from the Information Booth.

Homeless to Home Husky Rescue

Founded in 2019, the organization was founded to save huskies and other northern breed dogs in shelters or surrendered by individuals by placing them in foster care until permanent homes are found. They also educate pet owners on these special and adorable breeds.  Homeless to Home Huskies will be at the Fiber Festival with furry friends for the entire weekend.  They will happily receive any contributions and donations to support the pups during the weekend. Visit their website.

We look forward to seeing you at the festival and hope you stop by and support these wonderful causes as you explore the new and legacy artists and the amazing dyes and yarns they will have for all your creative projects.
